Sour cream and chive pretzels to be exact, washed down with a Halida beer at the start of our journey with Vietnam Airlines.
We’d read a lot of bad reviews about this airline but were pleasantly surprised. We had fish for lunch and beef noodles for breakfast – pretty good as far as aeroplane food goes!

<smile> Indeed, the worst airline food I have ever been served was on a Vietnam Airlines flight — the cold cuts were mottled grey and brown, with an oozy, oily coating which smelled of roadkill. That is the one bit of nastiness I have been unable to expel from my memory. The rest, thankfully, has been expunged.
I am very happy your experience was so much better. ๐
Oh that sounds terrible! Maybe we were lucky, or maybe we were just expecting it to be much worse from all the bad reviews!
<grin> Either way… you dodged an experiential bullet. Though… a negative experience like mine does provide excellent post material. ๐
Hey! Thanks for following my blog (TheCulturedTraveler) and, in return, giving me the chance to check you out as well. Looks like we have lots in common!! Stay tuned for more of my exploits in BA and on to Antarctica and more. It’ll be a real adventure – and nice to make your acquaintance in the meantime!
Thanks! Looking forward to seeing your posts on Antarctica, it’s somewhere we really want to go ๐
