About Us

We’re Carrie and Seth, a couple of thirty-somethings from England, addicted to travel and exploring the various cuisines and beverages of the world.

We don’t know how it all came about really, we both worked full-time, rented a nice little house and had great holidays every year. We never did the whole “gap yah” thing in our early twenties so one day we just decided we would save up to backpack around South-East Asia for a few months, quit our jobs and see what happened. That trip in 2014 snowballed to include Japan and a three week road trip around New Zealand. When we returned home after 7 months we were completely addicted to being on the road.

We went back to work, made the most of being able to see family and friends, enjoyed the luxury of constant access to hot showers, comfy beds and clean drinkable tap water, but within 2 months we were eager to get back out there and see what else the world had to offer! So we saved up again and set off to Peru in 2016 on a one-way ticket. We travelled through South and Central America, Mexico, then back over to Asia and ended the trip in India after 8 months on the road. We returned to Europe, saw all our family and friends at Christmas, lived in the Netherlands for two months and now we are back and settled in Brighton, UK.

We started this page initially as a food blog, then it became a way for people to keep track of where we were and to document some of the weird and wonderful things we encountered.

There are so many blogs dedicated to solo travellers but we’ve only ever travelled as a couple. We love it, it’s great to have someone to share all those experiences with, although it does have its own difficulties! We use travel blogs as a great source of inspiration and information, so hopefully this blog can do the same for someone else. We don’t know if we’ll ever do an extended trip again but we will definitely continue travelling (and eating) – there is so much of this beautiful planet left to see!
