Little India in Georgetown is a lively, vibrant neighbourhood with some fantastic food options. Walking down the road we saw this guy come out of the butchers with a large bowl of marinated chicken and it looked so good we decided to follow him to his restaurant.
Kapitan is a big restaurant on the main Chulia Street and always seems busy. We’ve already been twice for the Tandoori chicken. We ordered the set which includes a naan bread and sides and comes to 9RM (around ยฃ1.70). By far the best tandoori chicken we’ve ever eaten (and we’ve had a lot!). Hot, juicy chicken cooked fresh and really well seasoned. The naan bread was fresh and fluffy and the sauces were delicious, the perfect combination.
We also tried a mutton Rogan Josh with extremely tender, slow-cooked meat, which could be pulled apart with a spoon! Plenty of meat and a deep, rich, thick curry gravy.

Oh my gosh I’m making notes of these, I think I’ll be ready for some tandoori when we get down there! Loving the street art on Instagram, can’t wait to go there! Just finished a tasty pad Thai at GreenLeaf and off to Ayutthaya tomorrow haha ๐
